Your Home Vet – Terms and Conditions

Appointments and Bookings

Your Home Vet provides veterinary consultations and medical services at the client’s nominated residence.

Appointments must be booked in advance. We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Failure to provide adequate notice, or failure to be present at the scheduled appointment time, may result in a cancellation fee.

New clients are required to pay a $50 deposit prior to their first appointment. This deposit will be credited to your account and applied to your first invoice.

Payment Terms

Payment for services rendered is due at the time of the appointment.
We accept the following payment methods:

  • Debit Card
  • Amex
  • Cash – Please note that we do not carry change or cash due to our mobile nature.
  • Afterpay

An invoice and receipt will be sent to your nominated email address. Clients who choose to pay via Afterpay acknowledge that Afterpay is a third-party payment provider and agree to comply with Afterpay’s terms and conditions. The total invoice amount will be divided into four equal instalments, with the first payment due at the time of purchase. All Afterpay transactions are subject to Afterpay approval, and any payment follow-up or collection processes will be managed directly by Afterpay.

Safety and Handling

Clients are responsible for providing a safe and suitable environment for the veterinarian and veterinary nurse to conduct examinations and treatments. Where appropriate, pets that may pose a risk to themselves or others must be suitably restrained during the consultation. Your Home Vet is committed to practising fear-free and low-stress handling techniques. In some circumstances, a pet’s stress, anxiety, fear, or behaviour may prevent a safe examination or treatment from being performed. If this occurs, the consultation fee will still apply, and we will provide recommendations and a tailored plan to support a safer and less stressful experience for future visits. We carry a GPS tracked duress alarm with all times that is monitored by a security team.

Medical Records and Privacy

Your Home Vet will maintain accurate medical records for all patients. Client and patient information will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing veterinary care, except where disclosure is required by law.
If you have provided consent through our booking portal, photographs and/or videos of your pet may be used for educational, promotional, or social media purposes.

Treatment Decisions and Client Responsibilities

Your Home Vet will take all reasonable care and professional precautions, clients acknowledge that all veterinary procedures and treatments carry some degree of inherent risk.
Clients are responsible for:

  • Following recommended treatment plans and medication instructions.
  • Monitoring their pet as advised.
  • Attending recommended follow-up appointments.
  • Communicating any changes in their pet’s condition promptly.

Failure to follow veterinary recommendations may impact treatment outcomes, and Your Home Vet cannot be held responsible for complications arising from non-compliance with medical advice. If a client declines recommended diagnostics, treatment, referral, hospitalisation, or other medical recommendations that are considered important for their pet’s health or welfare, Your Home Vet may require the client to sign an “Against Medical Advice” (AMA) form acknowledging the potential risks associated with declining treatment.

Liability

Clients accept responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss caused by their pet to people, property, equipment, or vehicles during the provision of veterinary services. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Your Home Vet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the provision of veterinary services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
