Meet Anthony & Rosie

Sometimes, the best discoveries happen when you least expect them! That's exactly how Anthony found his perfect home at Fitzroy & Co by Est.

  • 27 May 2025

It was purely by chance that Anthony came across his new home at Fitzroy & Co by Est. Having just returned to Melbourne after time interstate, he was working across the road on a construction site.

“I didn’t even really realise it was here, to be honest!” he laughs. “But it felt like home. It had that instant feeling—warm, welcoming, and complete with all the amenities and services”

Right from the get-go, he knew it was perfect. Not just for himself but also for his dog, Rosie, who loyally shadows his every move.

“A big factor for me was that pets are allowed. Rosie’s a big dog, and the building caters for her really well—with the dog park on the rooftop and the dog spa, which she absolutely loves. She’s made a lot of dog friends here, too. It’s a community for her as much as it is for me—it’s a great, friendly pet building,” he says.

With so many pet-friendly amenities, the building is popular with other dog owners too.

“It’s amazing having the dog park up there. It’s got all the space, and they can run around and interact. The rooftop’s definitely for Rosie, she knows exactly where she’s going and she knows what floor to get off. She also enjoys the dog wash. She’s getting massaged, washed and blow-dried, and she probably wishes it went longer than it did. She knows where that is too, she’s straight in the door!” Anthony says.

After being made to feel welcome by the Est host team, Anthony decided to move in.

“The whole process was easy—very smooth. Access was good too, such as having the loading dock area, to be able to get my things in. The building in design and features is awesome. The choices, the colour palettes, everything makes the building feel very warm and welcoming.”

“We’ve got a group chat and a Facebook page, so it’s easy to connect and organise things—drinks, get-togethers, or events with other residents,” he says.

Anthony also enjoys the amenity outside the building, with plenty of places to take Rosie for walks and get to know the Fitzroy locals.

“There’s a coffee shop up the road, his name’s Phils. He knows Rosie, he knows everybody. He’s a great connector for the community.”

“Merri Creek is also just down there. There’s a great walking track and bike track that people use, and it’s a chance to meet other people and a lot of other communities around the building, not just within the building. Everyone’s quite friendly, it’s a great family area.”

He says that, as well as the amenity for Rosie, the best thing about the building is its location to experience the best of a Melbourne lifestyle.

“It’s so close to the city, it’s close to anything you want. I’ve lived in the suburbs, and that’s all well and good, but here, there are so many options. It’s unlimited. It’s great that the tram’s out here, the Clifton Hill train station is out the other side, and buses and transport options. Having a tram right out front and a train station at the back makes transport so versatile.”

“City living can be hectic , and work-life balance isn’t always easy. But living here has taken a lot of that pressure off. It feels calm. You feel like you sort of own the building in a way. It’s like you own a home—you feel that it’s yours and that you own a part of it.”
